Problem Description

Aspiring new 'Native AI Developers' (TM) who want to join a project or start their own project need to install and configure many tools: an IDE, Git, GitHub, Python environments, API keys, Claude Code, and more. Today, this is done by following a long list of steps, which is arduous, error-prone and intimidating for beginners. I need a desktop or web-based wizard that automates and guides users through the entire setup process with a visual UI.

Expected Outcome

A standalone application (desktop or web) that walks a new developer through setting up a fully AI enabled development environment. Each step shows progress, validates completion before moving on, and automates what it can (e.g., running shell commands with user consent). The tool should be project-agnostic — configurable via a simple config file that defines what needs to be installed and set up. It should hold the users hand and be available for answering questions (via an LLM of the users choice) through every step.

Acceptance Criteria

- Visual step-by-step wizard UI (not a terminal-only tool) - Configurable via a YAML/JSON file that defines the setup steps for any project - Handles: IDE installation detection, Git install & config, GitHub SSH key setup, Python/Node environment creation, dependency installation, API key collection & .env file creation, repository cloning - Each step shows clear instructions, runs automated checks, and reports pass/fail - Works on macOS and Windows/WSL - Non-technical users can complete the process without reading a separate guide

The closest concept would be OS install wizards (like macOS Setup Assistant) but applied to developer tooling.
